This program trains students to offer personal care and home management services to clients in  community or institutional settings. Personal support workers provide services to clients with physical, cognitive, emotional and behavioural challenges. Learn hands-on in the classroom, on community placements and in the home environment simulation lab equipped with high-end fidelity audio/visual equipment and interactive mannequins. PSWs are highly sought after as health care providers, working collaboratively as part of the health care team or in a supported independent living environment.

Note: As a part of this sponsored education opportunity, the Mohawks of the Bay of Quinte will supply you with the necessary program materials and resources. Additional cost of living and other supports may be available through MBQ as well.

All students will complete mandatory in-person clinical community placement to support virtual classroom learning.


OSSD or equivalent, ENG4C or ENG4U

Applicants must be prepared to complete the following in order to be eligible to complete the program's clinical placement component, and to practice in health-care settings.

You will also need:

  • A Clear Police Vulnerable Sector Check
  • TB Testing
  • Hep B Immunization
  • Varicella Vaccination
  • Full COVID Vaccination Protocol
