Policy and Impacts
Residential school, day school, the 60's scoop and the millennial scoop were all government-initiated policies that continue to impact the lives of the Indigenous peoples of Canada. The Indian Act is a set of rules and regulations that is still in effect, designed to govern the lives of Indigenous peoples “from the cradle to the grave.” Through discussion, activities and collaborative learning, learners will examine these policies and others to better understand their ongoing effects on Indigenous communities.
