Introduction to Indigenous Worldviews
Indigenous worldviews are defined by complex relationships between people, their lands, and the gifts that are given to them by regional teachings. Through discussion on Creation Stories and original instructions, learners will critically examine and assess how differences in worldview impact our values, beliefs, thoughts, actions, and consider the role of language as carrier of worldview and culture.

Examine a variety of perspectives informed by Indigenous Creation Stories, Original Instructions, and core belief systems.
Discuss the depth of meaning that Indigenous Peoples hold with respect to origin stories and their impact on worldview.
Summarize the role of language as carrier of culture and worldview.
Explain the impacts of colonization on Indigenous worldviews and relationships.
Identify ways in which new understandings from the course will impact on their personal life.
