Ohahase Education Centre
Ohahase means “New Road” in the Mohawk Language – and our high school could be exactly the new road you are looking for! Whether you are looking for full-time or part-time learning, or classroom-based, independent, or experiential learning, we have the right program for you.
Ohahase Education Centre is an accredited secondary school, and offers three ways a student can earn grades 9 – 12 credits and/or an Ontario Secondary School Diploma:
Full or part-time classroom based program
Earn up to four credits per semester (two semesters per year), under the direction and guidance of Ontario certified teachers. Classes run Monday to Thursday, 8:30 – 2:30.
Full or part-time independent program
Study and learn at your own pace; daily teacher support available; earn a credit in as little as a month!
NEW Full or part-time co-op program
Enroll in the 2- or 4-credit program; learn essential skills and work habits; new intakes yearly.
There will never be a better time than right now to complete your high school education. An Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) is your gateway to continued learning and a key entrance requirement for many college and university programs.
In addition, if you are over 18, we will conduct a mature-student assessment that takes into consideration your life and work experience. Most adults can earn their Ontario Secondary School Diploma by completing as few as four credit courses!
Our services are available free of charge to any student who:
- resides on Tyendinaga Mohawk Territory, or
- is a Mohawks of the Bay of Quinte band member, or
- needs prerequisite courses for enrollment in an FNTI post-secondary program
